Merry Christmas to all!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! We missed being with family, friends, and yes even the snow! We had a low key celebration of our own, doing some sight-seeing in the tropics! And as promised the day after Christmas we were reunited with our little Daisy. Having her back makes it feel so much more like home! I have a lot to be grateful for especially this time of year.

More Orchard decorations. Here we are on Christmas Day down at Clarke Quay. It is so beautiful over here and makes me think of San Fransico. While we walked around we enjoyed some local home-made ice cream. (Banana-Chocolate . . .yum! yum!)

This is where Jeremy's office is currently located downtown on Orchard Rd.

Next month his office will be moved to another location, closer to home. He can't wait for that, it will cut his commute down to nothing! A mere 10 mins away!

This is East Coast Park, just a 5min walk from our apartment. There is even an underpass for pedestrians to walk right to the beach. Jeremy likes to go running on this trail at the wee hours of 6:30am. (While Daisy and I catch a few more zzz's)

Although they aren't the most beautiful, clean beaches. . . it is still a beach and very close.

Family and friends our long awaited news! We would like to announce that we are expecting a baby boy! His name will be Crew Redd due May 14, 2009. Stay tuned for pictures of the growing bump!

The Apartment Complex

Ok here are some pictures of our place. We finally got our shipment! There are a ton of pictures so this should get you all off my back! :)

Here's the living room with a very lovely view out the french windows. It has a homey feel to it.

And this is the front. We upgraded to our own mini house rather than the apartment. . .lol

Just kidding! These last three pictures were the club house! It also has a pool table room, a game room, and two dance halls with a kitchen, for receptions or parties.

I love how the treadmills face out to the pools, so while you're running you can imagine yourself outside enjoying the sun instead. . . Maybe that's why I haven't used them yet?

The scenery is just breath-taking! Especially at night it has a very romantic feel to it. :)

More About US!

Wow! I have never been given so much 'stink' over a post before! So I'll give an update of us and I will not even mention the pooch! As I said before we really haven't done a ton as of yet. We are still waiting for our cargo shipment to arrive with all our furniture; so we are currently sleeping on an air mattress and eating at a cardboard box! (On the hard marble floor!) So I haven't taken any pictures of the apartment yet, it's still a mess; living out of suitcases and boxes. But don't worry they are coming shortly. (That phrase has a new meaning for us here in Singapore. When Jer was trying to get the cable set up we couldn't get anyone to call us back each time they would say, "Oh yes we call you back shortly." And Jer would say, "What does shortly mean to you? Because we have been waiting 3 days!" Then he says, "Oh Mr. Redd I don't want to commit to a specific time because I would hate to disapoint myself." You have to imagine the whole thing in their Asian accent and it makes it really funny!)

Anyhow here is an update of our Friday night adventure. We have met an awesome :) couple, Jenna and Clark who have been kind enough to show the 'hot spots' and the do's and don'ts of eating in Singapore. When you all come to visit, you will quickly learn that the local food doesn't always appear tasty so you need an expert's advice. (Thank you Clark!)

Here is Marche! It is I guess their version of an upscale buffet. It is a Swiss place and had a very fun atmosphere. When you enter they give you a 'credit card' and you go around to each booth. You pick what food you want and give them your credit card and they add a charge to the card. If you're not paying attention you could end up spending more than you thought. :) Brittany Redd, Jer says that you would just LOVE it! It really made you feel like you were in a completely different place outside of Asia, maybe in the middle of the Swiss Alps! :)

Yes! I finally got my Edward! (Although he is not nearly as good looking as I see him in my dreams. :) I must say I am a huge Twilight fan. I love, love, love the books. However, right before Thanksgiving I went with my mother in law and sisters in law to see the movie, and I was sorely dissapointed! The acting was terrible and it could have been so much more ! This is a sorry picture of Orchard Rd, but I can't seem to delete it.

They do a pretty good job of trying to make it westernized for Christmas. This sleigh was right outside of Marche. Jenna and I were breaking the rules, see the sign that says DO NOT ENTER! All the Asians just stared at us, becasue they are not rule breakers here. LOL!

Ok! So this should get me off the hook for awhile. ;) We are having a great time here in Singapore and we absolutely love it! We miss you all back home, especially this time of year. Hope that your holidays are going great, we'd love to hear from you!

Getting Settled. . .

We have finally made our move to Singapore. We are in our apartment and finally have internet and cable working! So I'm finally updating! (That was quite a project for Jeremy and not a very fun one! ) There is so much red tape to get through to do anything in this country, and poor Jer has all the luck. Everytime he tries to do anything there is always a hang-up completely out of his control. . . very frustrating for him. But it's all good now! Daisy and I are surviving without eachother. She has been in quarantine for 15 days and has 15 more to go. She'll finally come home the day after Christmas, I'm counting down the hours! lol She has been taking it a lot better than I have which is amazing considering she is seriously in a prison! Here is her cell door. You can see the windows are high up, so if we are late coming to see her, Daisy will stand on top of her kennel so she can watch for us out the window. . . so heart breaking!

She does have this little area that opens up so she can look outside and get even more depressed about being locked up.

This is the run that she is able to use for a 15min slot per day; the only time during that day that she gets taken out to go to the bathroom. (They say they take them in the morning but I don't believe it the way she has to go soo bad, it is disturbing!) And they make you sign up two days in advance to take her out. Really it is like a Nazi camp with so many rules!!!

Sorry I'll get off my soap box. Wow this is pretty pathetic that I have all this to say about my dog and nothing else. But this has pretty much been my life for the past 15 days. I get to visit only from 4-6 Mon-Sat. It takes about an hour and a half to get there so I leave each day at 2:30 hop on a bus to the MRT station, then I catch a cab from the MRT to the quarantine. Quite a trip but well worth it. Besides now I have a better grasp of the island and the public transportation! Stay tuned for more excitement. By the way we miss you all and would love to hear from you!!!

At Long Last!

Finally our pictures from Singapore! (We got a new camera and it took Jer awhile to figure out how to download the pictures so it's all his fault! :) We had a great time while in Singapore here are just the highlights.

Here we are on our first day touring. It was a very hot and humid afternoon, and was a perfect time to watch the boat races and the wake-boarding competitions that just happened to be going on. The boats looked like bullet bikes just in boat form. They were pretty cool.

There is this awful smelling fruit called Duran, this spiky looking building was created after it. The fruit smells so bad, it is illegal to carry it in cabs or on the MRT (high speed trains) because of the strong smell.

Who knew that Jeremy could take such lovely pictures? I was impressed how he got the beautiful flowers in the foreground of the skyscrapers.

This was probably the most entertaining thing we did that week. This tourist attraction is called the Wheel. It was just finished February of this year and it is the largest Wheel in the world. It takes a half hour to complete one full turn; and the views are absolutely breath-taking. You can see the entire Island including nearby countries; Indonesia and Malaysia. When ya'll come to visit we'll take you here! Be careful getting on and off, it doesn't ever stop!

Here is the chapel that we will be attending. The Sunday that we were there, was the week they watched General Confrence. We were able to meet a few of the members and the bishop and his wife. Our ward is all expats (citizens from other countries working and living in Singapore.) Most are from America, Europe, and Austrailia. Although Singapore is thousands of miles away from Idaho, this is still a pretty small world! My brother's wife Erin, has a sister, Heather who lives with her family in Singapore! We are so excited to have some familiar faces! Ryan and Heather you guys are the best!

This was our rental car for the week. . . yeah right. One morning we walked out of our hotel to see all these amazing million dollar cars in the parking lot.

This one was my personal favorite. You've never seen a backend look so GOOD before! Whoa! It was HOT!!!

This is once we finally arrived in the Singapore Airport. It was very clean and beautiful. (You should have seen the bathrooms! They were amazing!)

Singapore is Beautiful!!!

Jeremy and I are currently in Singapore looking for housing. We will be making our permanent move here (for the next 3 to 5 years) at the end of November. We were a little nervous and anxious about the move, but after visiting here we have fallen in love! (Laying out by the pool and getting a considerable tan in only two hours, definitely helps! Especially when it is snowing back home!) I can't wait to get home so I can post all the amazing pictures we've taken so far. I am also very excited to get back home to Daisy. This is the first time I have left her and I am really beginning to miss her! I know it sound dumb, but I am so grateful for our friends Becky & Matt, and Tyra & Lexi for taking such good care of her! Thank you again! Stay tuned for pictures of the tropical Island paradise!

Baby on Board!!!

If you couldn't tell from my new baby ticker, Jeremy and I are expecting our first little one!!! We are so excited! The baby's due date is May 13, 2009. Everyone keeps telling me that May is the perfect time to have a baby. . . so I guess we'll see! Since I'm not showing yet, I don't have a picture to show. . . but I will soon! So stay tuned. :)

It's Back to School Time!

I haven't posted anything for a few weeks because I have been so busy getting ready for school to start. Poor Daisy has been a trooper as I haul her to my classroom everyday for hours on end! (That's how it seems!) Once my room is all finished I'll post some pics for you all to see. I always know when school is about to start because I have nightmares that we're at school and I don't have anything planned, let me tell you it is a terrible feeling! LOL

Long, Hard Day!

These pictures were too cute not to post! These were taken right after Daisy got her summer hair cut, long story short she got butched! She had almost no fur, and got cold easily. I was on the bed reading and she jumped up and snuggled under the covers. What a spoiled little princess!

Back in September of last year, I was feeling like I needed a change so I chopped my hair. Here are those pics. . .

I guess I like change, because seemingly out of nowhere I decided to go dark! Which I have never done before. I always wondered how'd I look as a brunette. . . well now I know! :) I think I'm better as a blonde, but I think it's a good change. . . for now! ;)
