Clark Quay and Singapore's Oldest Temple

While Crew and I were at home, the party animals went to do some sight seeing. Their first stop was the oldest Indian Temple in Singapore.
Pictures from inside. Once they got to the Merlion they discovered a boat tour they thought would be fun for Crew and I, so we headed down to meet up with them. We are glad we did, as we had a great time.
We took a boat tour along the Singapore River in a boat like this one. It was a hot day but once on the water, there was a glorious breeze. It was a nice little tour. A great shot of the merlion from our boat. The happy family! (Dang Jer, always making crazy faces When I have no idea.) He thinks he's a big boy and can hold up his head all on his own.
Once he ate he was a happy sailor. (I still haven't mastered nursing in public. Crew sure is a trooper, as we both struggle to get the hang of it under a blanket in this crazy heat and humidity!)
Grandma and Grandpa just enjoying the boat ride. The buildings under construction in the background are soon to be Singapore's first casinos.
The party animals, taking a break for a picture.

Crew's First Outing!

Now that Crew is month old (it also helps that grandpa is pretty persuasive) we finally took Crew out for a little action on the town. For his first outing, we went to Marche for a little grub, then rented a taxi van to drive us around the main sights of the island. It was just a few hours which everyone was grateful for, as our guests had just arrived that morning around 3:00am. I caught a few of them snoozing during our taxi tour. . . tisk, tisk. In front of Marche ready to EAT! And we sure did, extra helpings of ice cream and brownies. YUM! Granny grunt and Crew baby. (He was such a sport as I tried for the first time to nurse him in a public place. We finally got the hang of it and he fell fast asleep.)
Grandpa wanted to show us how to milk a cow. . . looks like a pro.
Thank you grandma and grandpa for dinner. We had a great time and can't wait for you to come back and party some more.

Bubba's Baby Blessing

So handsome in his little white blessing outfit.
(Mommy made the mistake of getting size small instead of extra small, so we had to cuff the sleeves and pants. But you can hardly tell and he still looks so dang cute.)
He's giving us a half smile. Mommy and Crew. (I got a new 'hot' mommy haircut. . . but yeah doesn't look too hot when you've been standing in the humidity, just ignore these pics of the hair, it can be cute and doesn't always look so lopsided.) Crew, Jeremy, Jerry and Grandpa Slavens. Almost a four generation picture. (Grandpa Slavens is Beverly's dad.) Still really neat.
Outside the church building before the blessing.
Last Sunday, on Father's Day we had Crew's baby blessing. It was so special to have Jeremy's grandma & grandpa Slavins and Beverly and Jerry here. Jeremy did a great job, and so did Crew. He didn't cry once (although I can't say the same for Jer. . . such a sensitive daddy! He had all the mother's crying.) Of course I forgot to bring a pen so I was trying to remember parts of the blessing to have as a keepsake, but I obviously couldn't remember everything so I was kinda bummed. After sacrament meeting a lady in the ward came up to me and handed me a sheet of paper. She had written the entire blessing almost word for word. WOW! I was kinda shocked as this woman didn't know me very well. But now I have that in Crew's baby book to always remember. What a perfect ending to a great day!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Jeremy!!! We love you and think you are the best daddy in the world!
Daddy and Crew on Father's Day. (Which just happened to be the day he got blessed.) Oh sleeping on Daddy after a long day of work.
Story time with Daddy! When I read to him at night it is usually to wind Crew down for bed, but with daddy it is quite an adventure. And leaves Crew wide awake waiting for more! (It is so cute how intently Crew was looking at up at Jeremy. He really loves his daddy's voice.)
Although Jeremy's only been a daddy for 5 weeks, he is doing such a great job! I really couldn't hope for anything more. He absolutely adores his little man and always has his best intrests at heart. He is already a pro at soothing Crew to sleep, swaddling, burping, changing dirty diapers and giving mommy time to rest and pamper herself. It is so sweet to see how much Crew already loves his daddy too. Whenever Jeremy gets home from work, Crew turns his head to find him then follows his voice wherever he goes. He loves to smile and coo at the silly things daddy does and especially loves it when Jeremy mocks the sounds he makes. It will be so fun to see them playing ball and doing all the 'boy' stuff together as Crew gets older. Daddy, we appreciate you always putting us first and taking time to spend so much time with us. WE LOVE YOU, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Favorite Time of the Day. . .BATH TIME!

Ah! Nothing beats relaxing in the tub with some bubbles! I love my mommy!!!
His little 'goober' face showing how much he enjoys his warm bath.
Jer had been wanting to get a picture of this since he has a matching birthmark. I would have taken one of his too. . . but his butt isn't so small and cute. (Love ya babe!)
Aren't these little mittens so cute? While Jeremy was grocery shopping this week (YES you read correctly Jeremy has been such a great new daddy and has been doing ALL the household chores so I can relax and enjoy being a new mom for awhile.) so while he was shopping he picked these up. (You wouldn't believe how hard it was to get a picture where you could read both mittens.)

Sweet Cheeks!

I just love his chubby cheeks! I always wanna squeeze em and kiss em! My doctor says he always looks so grumpy. . .I think it's just the size of the cheeks. They also made it really difficult to capture a photo for his passport, as they were blocking his ears. And I'll tell you what, they are PICKY about passport pics. Eyes have to be open, mouth slighty closed, both ears, white background. . . man the list goes on. Needless to say after about 40 shots we finally got one that would work. He now has his first passport, what a big guy! Me at 3 weeks old. (I love how he looks like he is posing with his hands clasped, looking so grown up.) Me wearing my little Tigger outfit. (Thank you Mary Bywater!) Me with mommy at the doctors office for my 1 month appt, weighing in at 10lbs.
NAP TIME, and I am a STUD!!! This was nap time the other day at our house. Crew was just kickin back in his pram and here was Daisy. . .
Just snugglin with her wubba. This is the toy we brought home when we brought Crew from the hospital. She absolutely LOVES it. Any dog owners out there the toy is called a Wubba from Kong and they really love to cuddle with them. Just look at how priceless that snapshot is!

When will I learn???

I now refer to Crew as my little dinosaur baby. Because not only does he grunt all the time, but he also LOVES to poo right when I'm changing him. To make matters worse, as I'm frantically trying to stop the ooze from going EVERYWHERE, he decides that he wants to pee. Those of you with boys know that it doesn't go down, instead it goes straight up and usually hits him right in the face! Poor little guy that has now happened to us several times. So the first time a blow out happens, naturally you don't know what to do, but the second third and fourth time. . . (c'mon! Figure it out already!) Which I think I have, since my sis gave me a good tip. We'll see if it works. Even though he can be stinky and so much of a boy, other times he can be a little angel, like when he's sleeping. . .
My lil peanut! I went in to check on him and this is how I found him. It doesn't matter how tightly I swaddle him, he seems to always get those cute little arms out. SO PRECIOUS!
My three babies!
Crew's first picture with grandma and grandpa Schmutz. (He even opened his beautiful eyes for the pic!)
This is Crew with Isabelle a little girl in our ward. Jeremy home teaches her family and we think she is just so cute! What a natural with the baby!
It has been a busy past week. We said goodbye to my parents after their 10 day holiday here in Singapore. And we are just adjusting to our new life with a baby. It will be even more exciting once I can start taking him out and about. For now I've just been taking him for walks around our development with Daisy, and he loves the outside. He is so curious and has to have his eyes wide open the entire time. It's so stinkin hot here, that he gets to go out practically nude, and he still feels warm. Needless to say it shortens our walks, which Daisy doesn't really appreciate. Other than that and her lack of sleep, Daisy has adjusted really well and is actually a little mother hen. Whenever he cries she sits up with her ears perked and looks from me to Crew to make sure I heard him cry. She is such a great puppy and I couldn't be happier that she is doing so well with all the changes.
