More Nikoi

I should have explained a little more about Nikoi in my last post, but here goes. Nikoi is an 'eco-friendly' private island off Bintan, Indonesia. It is really close and takes about 3 hrs total to get there. Check out the website for more detailed description. http://www.nikoi.com/

We loved sharing the pool with the kamodo dragons. They were very cool, so prehistoric. They moved pretty quick so we couldn't get a full snap.

His first time having pineapple and he couldn't get enough! That is a huge slice stuffed in his mouth, rine and all. (Oh I am craving my daily 'banana fantasy'!)

My first time sailing. . . I just let the guy do everything for fear we'd flip over and be lost at sea. (I have a baby now to think about, nothing too risky ;)

There weren't any tubs so Crew got to bathe in the sink, he thought that was so cool.

All the staff absolutely adored him. Sue wanted us to take her back to Singapore so she could be his nanny, I guess he wasn't too keen on the idea. He actually loved the girls, he was just tired.

I get sick to my stomach thinking about this. . . but a little flying bug, sorta like a harmless type of wasp, decided to make a spider nest in the lid of Crew's sippy cup. I picked up the lid and saw that the rubber stopper seemed to have some powdery stuff in it. Jer dumped it out and out came 6 spiders. They were all packed in and sealed with a paste plug the bug created. I sure hope we cleaned it well enough. . . SO kidding we threw the cup away. Strange though right?

Nikoi Island from our little rickety old boat. . . I can't believe we don't have any pictures of the second boat we went on. (On second thought maybe Jer had alternative motives . . . if his mom saw the danger he had put her favorite, most handsome grandson in I don't think she'd be very happy ;) In all seriousness I really thought we were going to capsize, I was clutching on to Crew imagining, NO, waiting for the worst. Of course everything would be fine since we all had life-jackets on . . . right life-jackets??? Oh you mean the ones LOCKED in the cabinet BEHIND all the luggage! Yeah those made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Although the waves don't look very big, water was sloshing up over the sides and running across the bottom of the boat. The boat would go up the swell and fall back down giving your stomach the sickening kind of butterflies, like you're about to lose your last meal. Jer nearly fell overboard taking these pictures. But it was all part of the experience and one we certainly won't forget :)

Just arrived and we're already getting pampered. First fresh pineapple jucie at the bar then our faboulous first meal. (I can't remember what we had but trust me it was good.)

This was one of the dinning rooms. It was so relaxing. Sand floors, beautiful view, ocean waves. . . ahhh amazing food! Eating is just so much better when you get to wiggle your toes in the soft sand. (It was pretty hot for the little tyke, he was in a diaper 98% of the time and in a speedo the other 2% the girls were going wild)

A breath-taking view from the comfort of our bed. You may have noticed there are no closed off walls it was completely open to the fresh sea breeze.

The workmanship was so detailed it was stunning to look up at the ceiling and see the beautiful intricite design. Apparantly they make the huts using mostly driftwood from the island. It was just so peaceful and relaxing like becoming one with nature. . . I know sounds crazy but there's just no other way to describe it.

Catching up - Crew's first Buzz Cut

The first couple pictures are before the buzz cut. His hair was way overdo for a cut. But he sure is a cutie pie and he just melts my heart. I love my little man!

One morning I walked in to see this at just 6 mos old!

Ok I lied. Daddy went to get him from his nap and helped him stand up. But I was still impressed to see him standing all by himself. He's growing up so fast and before I know it he'll really be doing it.

Catch Up - Thanksgiving

This year Thanksgiving was great! We spent it with friends from our Singapore ward. We had fun games, laughter, yummy food, and great company. Thanks again Jonna for such a perfect day!

What's a Thanksgiving post without a picture of all the yummy food? Any yummy it was. I've never had such and amazing turkey!

What a bunch of fun cute girls I get to be with!

This was HILARIOUS! Under everyone's plate was a paper with a dare on it. Jer's dare was to sing his favorite Christmas song. The three came out arms locked singing a jingle. It was too funny.
