Holiday Happenings Part 2- Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year we did something new and different. . . We rented a cabin for a few days with Jer's side of the family including aunts and uncles. It was quite the shin-dig with so much family and it was a crazy blast! We had a great Thanksgiving feast, sledding behind trucks, and we ended it with illegal fireworks. Well since we were in Wyoming they weren't technically illegal. . . although for Josh ALL fireworks should be illegal ;) All in all it was a great holiday! Who's in for next year??? ;) Super sad I don't have any pictures of our cabin getaway! But we did make the trip up to Salt Lake to see the lights with Josh and Britt, Johnny and Glenna, and Suzie and her family. I thought the lights were beautiful, but Crew only lasted about 20 mins and he had had enough of the cold. That 20 mins was worth the nearly 2 hour drive and search for parking.

I loved all the trees with lights! This one in particular looked like it was the burning bush ;)

Holiday Happenings- Part 1 Halloween 2011

Wow how lame have I been??? I have let time slip by without posting any of it! Crew had a great time on Halloween and we were blessed to have nice weather. . . unlike last year. We didn't stay out too long, as soon as the sun set it was too cold for Crew. After gathering a small stash of candy we put him to bed and enjoyed a quiet night! Not a single trick or treater!!! I guess leaving your lights off really works. Too bad I bought that 5lb bag of candy at Costco. . . ah well somebody had to eat it :) We also enjoyed our ward party and of course Granny Redd's awesome grandkids' party.

Mommy was a stylin witch ;)

Bobbin for apples at Granny's party

Crew figured out right away how to get the apple in his mouth without sticking his head in the cold water

Hanging doughnut game. . .

Trying so hard to keep his hands behind his back!

Decorating sugar cookies. wow Granny sure spoiled these kids rotten!!!

Our little Thomas trick or treating.

Football, Monster Trucks, and Airplanes

I've been nervously awaiting the cooler weather, afraid that all our good times would drop with the temperature. . . but I've been pleasantly surprised as we've done some fun things these past two weekends.  Last weekend we enjoyed taking Crew to his first live football game. Jer's hope is the more Crew is exposed to sports, the more apt he will be to playing them :) We had a great time watching Justin play for his highschool. I had forgotten the energy and excitement that comes with highschool games. Much to daddy's dismay, Crew's highlight was the Monster Truck Ride. As for me I was terrified we were going to flip, but Crew insisted I go instead of Jer!! At least now I can say I've been in a monster truck and driven over cars, how many people can say that?
Payson had their Onion' Days last weekend, Crew saw this attraction as soon as we turned the corner.
The guy told me if your sitting in the back (which I mistakenly did) you are up 20-30 feet in the air on the highest points of the hills. . . YIKES! I'm glad we made it safely down. I am such a pansy in my old age.
He was so excited I can't even put it into words!!! I love his face in this pic. He talks about it nonstop, I can't believe I nearly deprived him of this epic, life changing experience! Thanks Daddy for talking me into it :0) We LOVE you!!!

Today we went to Spanish Fork's Air Show with Josh, Brittany and her kids. (Thanks Britt and Debbie for the invite!) We missed having daddy here, he was giving a training in Memphis maybe next year. :) Crew loved seeing the planes and especially the helicopter. He kept saying, "Mommy sing the helicopter song!" I guess I sing to much during the day while doing mundane tasks. . . just recently he's started asking me to make up songs about EVERYTHING mostly cars and trains but occasionally eyebrows and elbows??? Yeah kinda strange but I sure love him. And I especially love that he doesn't mind that I really can't sing.

Crew and the 'baby helicopter'

Inside one of the fire rescue planes. Fire fighters jump out of this plane to fight forest fires. The men wear these huge suits because they have to jump with all their equipment.

Poor little guy thought he was going for a ride :(

Mimi (Brittany's mom) and the cousins. Thanks again it was awesome!

Little Addy had too much fun and was all tuckered out.

Not sure if this was allowed but Crew sure thought he was awesome.

My sweet little goober face pretending to be camera shy. We miss you daddy!

A little slice of shade on the hot tarmac. ;)

Face Book. . . and Summer Fun!

So I finally created a facebook account and I'm not completely sold on it. I guess I just really like how blogging feels more personal and allows people to come along with you on your journey through life :) (ok kinda cheesy but blogging makes it easier to be far away from friends and family when you can see pics and read about all the stuff your missing) ANYWAY i'm sure as soon as I learn how to use it properly i'll be a FB junky. Moving on to more important things our latest happenings I neglected to blog about. . . Back in April we went to Santa Monica (again :) It's becoming one of my new fav vacay getaways. It's laid back cali fun.

Crew sitting first class watching Cars and eating gold fish. . . seriously this kid has flown first class more than coach. *Thanks to my Gold Medallion Status* I guess all those LONG flights to and from Singapore paid off.

Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. So cool you get to touch all the sea creatures.

"Really mom? You're embarrassing me!"

I love his chubby little finger pointing to the sharks below

My fav part of the Aquarium, the Shark Nursery. These are the different stages of an unborn shark. The mother shark lays these sacs in the sand and they just grow and I believe eat their way out. Very interesting to the 2nd grade teacher in me :)

Family bike ride down the beach bike path.

His first encounter with a real ladybug! He loved it until. . .
He squished it with his chubby fingers. Poor ladybug. For a few weeks after he kept asking to go find ladybugs and squish them.

This was week 2 of potty training! He did really good to let us know he had to go, but there weren't any bathrooms around. It sure is nice having a boy it makes peeing on the go so much easier.

He was pretty proud of his 'puddle'

Such a handsome catch I have.
3rd Street Promenade is awesome. If you ever go to Santa Monica check it out.

My little dinosaur

Story time at the library.
(Yes I take Crew to the library even on vacation. It's really fun for the kids they love listening to stories and singing the silly songs.)

wheel on the bus

Maybe how old he is???

Ready for our daily swim

This day he was so grumpy and would not cooperate for my pics so I took it anyway. I really like this statue of a family.

A pine cone almost as big as my head ;)

Ok so he was grumpy because he was STARVING! He continued to eat about half the tray of veggies.

And then for dinner his favorite. . . naan bread and yummy Indian food with Jer's co-worker Arnold.

There's more photos to post but I'll have to do another one later I'm pooped and it's late. It sure is fun getting to travel with daddy! What will we do when he is in school and we're tied down?
