Bye Bye Curls! Hair Cuts All Around

It has been a busy week with lots going on. Jeremy has rushed off to the U.S. last minute for meetings, Freya my BFF from Australia has come to stay while Jer's away, and Crew got his first hair cut! Jeremy has been wanting to shave Crew's head but I'm just too attached to his curls so I've kept putting it off. But I thought that I could compromise and since he was gone I'd surprise Jer by getting Crew's hair cut. Fortunately for me, Tiffany agreed to cut it and it looks heaps better. No more wispy side curls! The before shot. We originally planned to cut his hair outside on the balcony. But Crew started to throw a fit because it was so stinkin hot. So we moved inside to the bathroom. He really was a little angel almost the entire time. Near the end he had had enough so auntie Freya had to sing for him. As long as he could see her face he was content. My little man is such a good baby! He was so tired as it was time to start getting ready for bed, and he had hair all over him but he was still being so good.
The after shot. His little curls on top are gone and he now looks so grown up. (Silly to think a little hair cut could do that but he really seems to have lost a bit of his baby look with that hair cut.) He now has a great fohawk like daddy. Thanks Tiff you did an awesome job and he looks darling!

11 weeks old!

He has outgrown all his 0-3mos onzie and is now onto the 6mos. (Yes American 6mos, he'd probably be wearing 12mos in Asian sizes)
This is his talking face. He just has so much to say I really wish I knew what he was thinking. Regardless he is a cutie pie!
Tummy time which unlike Daisy, is not Crew's favorite. I can barely get the full 5 mins out of him without totally ticking him off. Dasiy sure has been a good sport about the new addition to the family. Although in her mind she is sharing her mat with him. As soon as I set the mat down, she grabs her nearest toy (in this picture it is actually her doggy bone) and is laying down in the middle of the mat before I can even put Crew down. She grudgingly nudges over to allow a little space for him. So to prevent her from feeling pushed aside, I usually bring out his other play mat for her to have all to herself. Which of course in her mind is no favor, it's expected.
But they sure make a cute pair.
Well my little baby is now a little tank! At 8 weeks he was weighing just over 13lbs. And he is just getting chubbier and chubbier. I must admit he does have quite the double chin. It has replaced his hair as his most predominant feature. The comments about his hair are long gone (along with most of his locks) and instead they quickly notice the chin. Despite the seeming setback, he's already a ladies man and always has a smile for the girlies. Especially ones with British accents. He goes crazy for them. :) In addition to accents, he loves to hear foreign languages. (Of course his favorite is Korean from auntie Helen.) It makes me wonder if babies understand all languages at birth or do they just like the way it sounds??. Playtime has become much more interesting as the conversation is no longer one sided. He loves to talk and smile in response, and we carry on extensive conversations. Most days I'll put him down for a nap only to hear him a few minutes later laughing and talking. I peek in and find him chatting away to his mobile. He's obsessed with both the mobile in his bed and the one on his swing. Naturally he likes the one on his swing because it has a mirror. (He really does take after dadddy.) But I haven't figured out why he likes the one in his crib. He really is a great baby. He goes down for bed between 5:30 and 6:00 and sleeps till 12 for his first feed. He's up once more for an early morning feed then usually sleeps till 7:30 or 8:00. Thought I should document that to remind me how good I have it with this little guy. We sure love our little Crew.

Little Cookie Monster

While Jeremy's parents were here, Jer and I took Daisy out for a nice long walk while grandma watched Crew bear. When we came back this is what we found. . .
The cookie wasn't actually on his belly when we came home, so at first I thought he had poo all over his face. I was so confused because his poo isn't that color and secondly how the heck did he get it on his face??? Then I realized it was just chocolate. (Looks like a perfect chocolate chip cookie doesn't it? Wish I could say that I made them, but nope Jer did. We've had this 5yr standing competition as to who makes the better cookies. . . well I have to admit that although mine are still the best, these were pretty darn good.) This was the face once he realized he didn't actually get to eat the cookie. . . Grandma such a teaser!
We also went and saw Transformers. Crew's first movie and he LOVED it! He just stared up at the screen the entire time he was awake. (Yeah he somehow managed to sleep with all the noise.) At one point I had him laying on my lap and he was arching his back to see the screen. It was too cute.

Elephant Rides in Bintan!!!

While Jeremy's famiy was here they took a quick day trip to Bintan, Indonesia. Crew and I weren't up for the trip just yet so we opted out and stayed at home with Daisy. They came home and said we missed out because it was awesome. Here are a few pictures to document the event.
Jer said he didn't want to put ALL his weight on the elephant for fear he'd break it. ??? Look at the size of his leg I think he can handle it! :)
Grandma's riding like a pro!
I guess Jer was actually feeding the elephant a banana. The elephant would grab it from your hand with his trunk then put it in his mouth. How cool!
Jer has always wanted to be a millionaire!!! (Too bad 1million rupiah is only 100 US dollars. . . we'll keep that our little secret.)
Nothing like wind blowing in your hair on an exciting boat ride. They saw monkeys, snakes, and floating huts.
A beautiful sunset to end a great day.

Hot Date At The Pool!!!

We were taking Daisy for a walk the other day and it was blazing hot outside. So I took Crew out of the stroller and dipped his feet in the water. He loved it, so I thought it was time to take him for his first pool outing. My friend Megan hadn't taken her baby out yet either so it became a date. (As Megan's mother in law called it.)
In his speedo ready for his HOT date! This is Jamie and her mommy Megan. Jamie is 12 wks old and Crew is already bigger than her at only 6wks! His hands are double the size of hers! (But they have the same size feet.)
Just lovin the nice weather with mommy in the pool! I was surprised that he didn't cry once. I know he loves his bath time but this water was much cooler than his bath water.
Jamie loved it as well. It was funny to see how they interacted with eachother. She would just stare at Crew, so interested to see another little person like herself.
