Earthquakes and Cooking with Freya

It was so great to have Freya come, especially since Jer was gone to the states. Freya and I met at BYU Idaho we had a math class together, and she used to come stay with me when Jeremy would travel for work. It was just like old times. :) Although we didn't get to see many sights it was so fun to just be silly, cook some good food and hang out with Crew. We even experienced our first earthquake in Singapore together. The earthquake didn't happen in Singapore we were feeling the effects of the earthquake in Sumatra; but being up on the 18th floor was pretty scary. The entire building started swaying and I got really light headed and dizzy. At first we didn't know what was happening I started to panic and was about to grab Crew from his bed and make a run for it. (I don't think that would have been the best idea anyhow if it was a true disaster as the elevators wouldn't be very safe.) But it only lasted about 5 mins and then all was well. Thanks Freya for all your help and the good times we miss you already!!! (But we sure are happy to have daddy back home safe.)

Cute Freya on the balcony ready for our wonderful dinner we made.

In the kitchen cookin up a storm. Romantic dinner for two?? This is McKell's chicken marsala recipe. mmm it was good and we felt so accomplished after cooking it I had to get some snaps of it for the blog! (Jeremy teased that shows how often I cook a good meal. . . if I have to take pics of this one. Really I make lots of great meals I just don't think to take pictures. lol)
On Freya's last night here, my friend Helen had us over to teach us to make kimpab. (Don't think I spelled it correctly) but it is Korean sushi rolls. They are so yummy and easy to make. They are Jeremy's fav. (he informed me that since they are so easy to make he expects to have them once a week. ;) Really we are so lucky to have Helen next door. I am constantly asking her questions about parenting, borrowing eggs, or just needing a friend to talk to she is always there for me. She is a great friend and neighbor.
Here are her two children Hayoung and Jun. And as you can see she prepared a wonderful feast for us.

I read in the paper about the tremors the next day so now we know for sure you weren't going crazy!

I totally think you should've taken pictures of chili and cornbread too - that meal was TASTY!

Catch up soon - Sunday even! xox

PS love the new photos too!
